From Munich Franz Josef Strauss Airport (MUC):
Distance to Haus International is 30 kilometres, approximately 30 minutes' drive.
Getting there. The airport train station is located on the basement level between the two terminals. The S1 and S8 S-Bahn trains go to Munich's Hauptbahnhof (main train station). Trains depart every 20 minutes and the journey takes approximately 45 minutes. A single ticket costs 8.80 EUR and must be validated before taking the escalator down to the platforms. The Lufthansa Airport bus also goes to the Hauptbahnhof, departing every 20 minutes. A single ticket costs 9.50 EUR. Take the U2 from the Hauptbahnhof to Hohenzollernplatz and then the number 53 bus or number 12 tram to Barbarastrasse, the street running parallel to the hotel. A taxi will cost approximately €55- 65 direct to the city centre. Prices are subject to change.
Getting around. The centre of Munich can be explored on foot and much of the city centre is pedestrianised. The city has an integrated public transport network with trams, buses, U-Bahn underground trains, and S-Bahn commuter trains. Tickets are interchangeable on all forms of transport. There are taxi ranks throughout the city but fare can be expensive. Trains from the Hauptbahnhof connect Munich to other towns in Germany and to the Bavarian countryside.
